FAQ

Does Bamboo’s Ba Zhen tastes good?

Yes! Our Ba Zhen is created with love, for you. It is sweet and sour with hints of bitterness for a more balanced taste. It tastes good to please even the pickiest eater. Try it, you will not regret.

I feel like the Ba Zhen colour and taste are a bit different compared with my first and fourth box?

Our key ingredients are plant-based, it is normal to experience slight colour & taste change over time. Therefore, we recommend customers to purchase the amount in need instead of bundles unless you are sharing with your peers/family or you are consuming it daily.

Why is there a mild spicy after taste?

The mild spiciness is due to our black pepper extract - one of the key ingredient for SEC-IN® Patented Technology. It promotes the blood flow to sublingual mucosa for nutrients absorption.

Don’t worry, this after taste is completely normal and it will be reduced over time.

Are your herbs sulphur treated?

The herbs we used are sulphur-free. We are transparent with the ingredients and their source of origins. We only create high quality products for your best experience.

What is the benefits of Fermented Red Ginseng?

Normal Ba Zhen uses Codonopsis Root, one of the key ingredients among the 8 types of herbs. In the first gen of Bamboo’s Ba Zhen, we replaced Codonopsis Root with white ginseng. Now in the newly upgraded Bamboo’s Ba Zhen, we have chosen Fermented Red Ginseng.

While these three ingredients are commonly used as treatment for Qi and Blood deficiency, as well as beneficial for spleen and lung health, the effects of Codonopsis Root is generally more gentle and milder as compared to ginseng.

Ginsenosides are the primary ingredients in ginseng responsible for all the good health benefits. Ginsenoside molecules in white ginseng are larger, they need to be metabolised in intestines to be smaller so the body can absorbed easily.

After white ginseng is steamed, dried and then fermented with probiotics, it will become fermented red ginseng. Compared to white ginseng, fermented red ginseng has a higher amount of smaller ginsenosides molecules easier to be absorbed by the body.

What is sublingual administration?

The area under human's tongue has many capillaries. Sublingual administration involves placing a medication/supplement in this area, enabling the nutrients to be absorbed faster and directly into the bloodstream without going through digestive system.

Sublingual Administration has advantage over oral administration. The nutrients are absorbed directly to the bloodstream, without going through gastrointestinal tract (which will decreased by stomach acid or enzymes) & also metabolism in the liver.

How does this SEC-IN® Patented Technology increase the absorption of nutrients to our body?

This technology involves a water soluble gel compound structure which holds all the ingredients together, where the nutrients can be absorbed through sublingual administration.

Bamboo's 11-in-1 Ba Zhen is specially designed using this technology. Our exclusive sublingual paste enhances nutrients absorption into human body. It allows active ingredients to be absorbed instantly through sublingual mucosa and pumped into blood circulation from heart.

Can I still just swallow without putting under the tongue? Will it still be effective?

We suggest to hold the Ba Zhen under tongue for 1 minute before swallowing as this enables the nutrients to be absorbed through sublingual mucosa, which means faster nutrients absorption.

However, there is no big deal if you want to just directly consume it, our Ba Zhen is still effective!

Can people with weak stomach/poor digestion take this?

People with weak stomach/poor digestion normally have poor nutrients absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. We recommend you to consume it with sublingual administration and hold it longer (1-3 minutes) for most Ba Zhen nutrients to be absorbed in sublingual mucosa.

Can I take Bamboo’s Ba Zhen together with other traditional/western medication or supplements?

We don’t recommend to consume them together. It would be ideal to consume Bamboo’s Ba Zhen at least 1 hour apart from other traditional/western medication or supplements. Please seek advice from your certified medical or TCM practitioner.

When is the best time to consume Bamboo’s Ba Zhen?

If you have sensitive stomach, we recommend to consume it 1 hour after meal. For normal people, we suggest to consume Bamboo’s Ba Zhen half an hour before meal with empty stomach.  The best time to consume is before breakfast on an empty stomach as the nutrients can be better absorbed into the body.

How long does it take to experience the efficacy?

The recommended course for Bamboo’s Ba Zhen is continuous consumption of a minimum of 30 days. Product’s efficacy may vary among people with different body constitution. TCM is most effective when you incorporate it into your daily life. Be consistent and patient, your body will begin to respond to the therapeutic care!

When is the expiry date and how long is the shelf life?

Bamboo’s Ba Zhen has a general shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacturing in Taiwan. We aim to receive the new batch of imported stocks within 2 months from the date of manufacturing. Therefore, we recommend customers to purchase the amount in need instead of bundles unless you are sharing with your peers/family or you are consuming it daily. In cases where the product has short expiry period (6 months or below), we will indicate the expiry dates clearly.

Is it recommended for teenagers during puberty?

We recommend people aged above 18 years old to consume Bamboo’s Ba Zhen with maximum of 2 sachets per day. Teenagers during puberty (12-17 years old) can take at a reduced dosage of 1 sachets per day. For teenagers, kindly consult certified practitioners for consumption advice.

Looks like there are a lot of sugar content in a sachet. Is it safe? Does it increase blood sugar quickly?

World Health Organisation’s recommended sugar intake is 5-10% of daily diet. The sugar content in a sachet is 1.7g, which is only 0.34% of recommended daily sugar intake based on a 2000 calorie diet.

Maltose and maltodextrin are key ingredients in SEC-IN® Patented Technology which hold all the active ingredients together and attach to the sublingual mucosa for better absorption of nutrients.  They are small-molecule sugars with high glycemic index (GI value) (around 100 each), which can easily lead to spike in blood sugar. However, if we convert 4g of maltose & 2g maltodextrin in each sachet into glycemic load (GL value), it is about 100*(4+2)/100 = 6. Food with GL value less than 10 is considered a low GL diet. Therefore, consuming 1 sachet at a time is less likely to increase blood sugar levels.

Nevertheless, kindly consult certified practitioners for consumption advice if you have severe diabetes related complications.
